Emory Irpan (Project Lead)– Emory is a senior at USC studying business administration and video games. After an art position at an indie developer, internship at a marketing firm, and a summer at a Fortune 500 staffing firm, he’s ended up as a production intern at Activision on the Call of Duty franchise. Emory is skilled in in various project management tools (Project, Excel) and methodologies (Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban). He’s helped design various paper and digital games during his time at USC and outside of class, and enjoys creating design modules for some of his favorite games in this spare time. Arnold Chow (Creative Lead)– Arnold Chow is a senior studying game design at the University of Southern California. He has worked on several student projects at USC, including experimental games delving in stereoscopic 3D. Arnold is very interested in the aesthetic elements of game design, and is knowledgeable in traditional art, digital art, and 3D modeling. He aspires to contribute to the game industry as a designer or producer, and has worked Core Overload’s multiplayer map, visual design, scope management, and key gameplay systems. In his spare time Arnold enjoys playing various AAA titles and strangely-addicting Flash games on Kongregate.
David Landau (Engineering Lead) – David Landau is currently pursuing a M.S. in Computer Science with specialization in game development at USC. He is a passionate engineer and designer who has studied video game development for nearly seven years. His past experiences include managing custom content pipelines, developing multithreaded game engines, tool development, and being an interface between design and engineering. In his free time he is typically being a badass in online games with his wife and contributing to open source projects. He is the engineering lead on Core Overload.
Dru Erridge (Networking Lead)– Dru Erridge, gamer and technophile, was enticed to LA in 2010 by the Makers of Entertaining Games Association and USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering where he chose to pursue a B.S. in Computer Science Games. Dru believes in variety, whether in work or in play. He’s worked and interned from research to intellectual property in clean tech and from 3-man startups to Microsoft Windows Phone Division in mobile software.
